An out of this world experience – COSMOS PLANETARIUM

For the kids: 10am-4pm….

  • Planetarium: Join British astronaut Tim Peake and fly up to the International Space Station to learn how astronauts live and work in space.
  • Space Rocks: See and hold samples of meteorites that are 4.5 billion years old, including a rare fragment of the Moon and Mars.
  • Virtual Reality: Immerse yourself in a virtual world where you can explore the scale of the universe form inside an atom to the edge of known space.
  • Bottle rockets: Indoors design and build your very own rocket then head outdoors to mission control to see it launched.
  • Mars Rover: Have a go at landing NASA’s Curiosity rover on the surface of Mars using the Xbox Kinect Sensor as the interface between you and the lander.
  • Telescopes: How they work. What to see. Make one from Lego.
  • Q & A: with astronomers from St Andrews University
  • Plus many more “out of this world” space themed craft activities, quizzes and handouts.


For adults: 8pm – 10pm…

  • Scotland’s Astronomer Royal will take us deep into space…
  • Big screen presentation: …to the edge of the Universe
  • Telescopes:…guided exploration of the night sky
